Dear Von Bargen's Management: I wanted to write to express how extremely happy I was with the service and professionalism of your Stratton Mountain, VT store, where my boyfriend Brian and I shopped recently for an engagement ring. Because I remembered being impressed by the interesting and beautiful range of jewelry we saw in your store while visiting Stratton Mountain last year, Brian and I were curious to stop in and see your selection of engagement rings during our ski trip this year. Although we had not expected to buy a ring in Vermont because we live in New York City, I fell in love with the beautiful and unique Heirloom Double Shank ring created by Von Bargens. Roxanne Prescott also made all of the difference in our decision to buy the ring, as she patiently and enthusiastically answered our hundreds of questions and searched to find just the right quality diamond and setting that matched our taste and budget. After having endured pushy salesman in the diamond district of New York City, as well as having been disappointed by the overpriced selection of well-known jewelry stores like Tiffany’s, we were grateful for Roxanne's easy-going yet professional demeanor. Coordinating on a custom-made ring with Roxanne -- who showed an obvious love for their work -- was such a nice way to start our engagement. Flanking a landslide

To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to express my gratitude for the level of service I received during a recent purchase. This was the second time my fiancé and I have chosen to do business with your stores. The first was for my engagement ring. This most recent experience was for my wedding band.

Both times, our primary point of contact was Roxanne Prescott. We have chosen to do business with her because we are always treated as highly valued customers and guests. Despite living in Connecticut, we made a point of traveling well out of our way to work with her.

Unfortunately, there was an error with my wedding band. Instead of a 4 1/4, my ring was a 6 1/4. This error was discovered just 2 weeks before my wedding. What could have been utterly disastrous actually turned out to be your staff's finest hour. Staff members in multiple stores worked together to ensure that I would have the right ring in time. At no time did anyone play "pass the blame". Employees took ownership for the problem and worked hard to correct it. The staff was efficient and always well organized: I could call a store, speak to someone I had never dealt with before, and still get my questions answered. I remember having contact with Carol, Paul and Julie when I was unable to speak with Roxanne, and I'm sure that there were others involved that I do not specifically remember by name.

I believe the true test of customer service is not in how employees treat customers under favorable conditions, but rather how they treat customers and respond to situations when there has been a problem. The entire staff certainly lived up to what I assume are very high expectations from VonBargen's management and ownership.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for your staff going above and beyond to make things right. I am certain that there are many businesses that would not have put forth one quarter the effort that you did. For that reason, despite living out of state, your staff has made a lifelong customer out of me.

I can’t WAIT to see it!!! I have to tell you that we have mentioned to each other many times how happy we are that we stopped into your store. Kevin and I have not had much luck being treated very well in jewelry stores. We aren’t taken very seriously because we’ve been told we look younger than we are. I think I mentioned before that we had been looking for a wedding band for me for several months. The main reason I hadn’t decided on anything was because I didn’t feel comfortable in any of the stores that we went to so I couldn’t focus on looking for a ring. I always felt rushed along or we got tired of waiting while the staff focused their attention on more expensive looking people.

I was very apprehensive about going ring shopping dressed in my homemade skirt (we were in town for a concert), but it needed to be done. You seemed to ignore our attire and treated us very well from the start. It was the way you approached us in the store and how you treated us throughout the process that ultimately made our decision on where to buy my ring. I’m eternally grateful.

Dear Von Bargens,

when my fiancé decided to propose, he knew that I would want to be involved in the process of choosing the ring that I would wear for the rest of my life.

While I knew right away which mounting I loved, I had never had the occasion to select such an important, and expensive diamond. From my initial contact with Roxanne Prescott, I immediately knew that we were in good hands. It was several weeks of phone communications, and a handful of emails, before we could finally make the 3 hour drive to Vermont. Despite the fact that we undoubtedly drove past another Varna retailer, I was adamant about going to see Roxanne. When my fiancé asked why, I tried hard to put into words the way I felt.

While the $xxxxxx ring we chose was an expensive option for us, it was, I'm sure, not the most expensive piece that Roxanne sold that month, or probably that week. The reason, however, that we drove from Connecticut to Vermont, was because Roxanne made us feel like were spending $50,000.

She was friendly, attentive, and prompt to respond to messages and emails, and willing to help us make an educated decision. Not for a moment did I ever have that feeling in the pit of my stomach that comes when you feel like you've been taken advantage of. I feel like we got the best diamond for what we had to spend, and that we know more than when we walked in the door. All of this is thanks to Roxanne.

In a world where people rarely take the time to write a letter about service unless it was horrible, its truly a pleasure to write this. I have yet to receive my engagement ring, but there is no doubt in my mind that the end of this transaction will be as perfect as the beginning. Roxanne will be the first person I turn to when the time comes for another jewelry purchase. Many thanks to you, Roxanne.
