Call to determine locations of Clinics At Von Bargen’s, we offer regular, in-store appraisal clinics to provide you with fair market values of your jewelry. Appraisals are absolutely necessary for distribution of estates amongst heirs, dissolutions of marriage, sales and post-loss assessments. We strongly recommend scheduling the pieces on your homeowner’s insurance and updating the appraisals every two years to keep pace with current market values. Many companies provide cheap, one-page documents and call them appraisals. We adhere to the standards put forth by the American Gem Society, American Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. In your completed appraisal, you will find detailed descriptions of your pieces, enlarged photographs, diagrams and diamond plots that give you a full understanding of what you own. Most importantly, it will protect you fully in the event of a loss. Our appraisers each have over 30 years experience in the jewelry business and training from the Gemological Institute of America as well as the American Gem Society. Both appraisers regularly attend industry events and stay up to date with trends and new techniques. Our lead appraiser, Phillip Bosen is the only Certified Gemologist Appraiser, through the American Gem Society, in the state of Vermont. The process is simple and straightforward: drop off your jewelry before any scheduled appraisal clinic and we take care of the rest. Typically, we charge $125 for the first piece and $75 for each additional piece. Updates on Von Bargen’s appraisals are slightly less. In addition to the hard copy you receive, we will gladly send electronic versions to your insurance company or attorney. We welcome any questions you may have, 802-864-0012. 2013 Dates: | Month |
